39% of Facebook fan pages are for business
29th December, 2009
If you've been wondering whether you should get your business on Facebook, then the answer according to the newly released HubSpot report is absolutely 100% maybe. If 39% of fan pages on Facebook are dedicated to brands or products, how is yours going to get seen? Here's how...
One thing you'll probably have on your side if you're reading this blog, is that you're from the UK. Italians- you're in luck too. Italy and the UK have more fans per page than the US, which just goes to show that it really is all about quality, not quantity.
But here's the really good news...
The Facebook pages with the most fans are local businesses and musicians.
So maybe there is something to be said about this Facebook malarky after all.
The fact is, that Facebook isn't just another fad. It's been around for a while now and it doesn't show any signs of slowing down or becoming less popular. Today, Facebook has 350 million active users, half of who log into their account every day. There are more than 55 million status updates posted each day, 2.5 billion photos uploaded each month, 3.5 million events created and more than 700,000 businesses with active pages.
Which means that if anything, Facebook is actually even more popular than it was this time last year- if that's even possible. It also means that your business will have quite a lot of competition. But don't rule it out completely. Whatever kind of marketing you'll do, there'll always be plenty of competition. It's just a case of making your campaign better.
